10 Ways to Earn Extra Cash in Our Economy

Making money online is one of my favorite ways to make extra cash because I can do so without leaving the comfort of my own home. There are countless ways to make money online. Keep in mind you may need to have a website to make this happen. You can sign up for hosting for less than $4/month at certain hosting companies to get started.

Online Side Hustles

1. Start a blog
Perhaps the most popular way to earn a passive income is by launching your own blog. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up and is cheap to start – just purchase your domain name and pay for hosting.
After that, start creating amazing content that people would be interested in reading or sharing. For example, if you’re an accountant that has helped small business owners with their taxes, then that could be your blog. I personally have my invoicing blog to help customers know everything there is to know about invoicing. This draws thousands of signups a month.

Make sure the topics you write about are popular. If you still love your pet rock, I doubt there would be enough people visiting your our site to monetize it. But, you never know.

Once you’ve gained a following, you can start making money from of your blog by:

Earning commissions as an affiliate. This is where you push other people’s products or services on your site. Make sure these products or services are relevant to your blog. For example, that accounting blog could become an affiliate for accounting or invoicing software. Once you find an affiliate partner you’ll be given a unique code so that whenever a visitor clicks that link on your site you’ll earn your commission.

2. Sell your own information product
If you’re knowledgeable in a certain area, then you can start creating products, such as eBooks or videos, and selling them on your blog. It may take a lot of work to create and market your products, but once all the leg work is over, you can just set back and collect the proceeds.

3. Invest in bitcoin
Bitcoin had a very good 2016. That should carry over into 2017 and beyond. In fact, some experts believe that the price for bitcoin will reach $1,000 within the next year, which would be a 40 percent increase. This is because of an increase in usage, more adoption, an increase in investments, and remittance in emerging markets like India.

4. Create an eCommerce Store
If you have a product to sell, an eCommerce store is a great way to get it out there. Make sure to do your research first as this market is very saturated, so the more niche you can be, the better. To make the process even easier of opening your online store, check out Shopify, which is an eCommerce platform that has good looking templates so you don’t have to do any programming.

5. Join Focus Groups
Companies interested in improving their marketing efforts often conduct focus groups of potential customers. And if you’re willing to spend the time participating, you can earn extra money. “Companies are willing to pay you for your insight as a consumer and sometimes they’ll even arrange to come to your home,” Martin says.

For instance, a few months ago, a company paid Martin $250 for spending two hours talking with three people about snack foods and tasting some cookies. “Not bad for making money from 6 to 8 pm in my own home when the only thing I’d normally be doing is eating dinner,” she says.

To find companies looking for focus group participants, check out FindFocusGroups.com or search job postings on Craigslist with keywords such as “market research,” “paid study,” or “surveys.”

6. Invest in Crowdfunded Real Estate
Real estate can be a great way to make money while you sleep. However, because it costs so much to purchase a home, using a crowdfunding platform to buy real estate can be a more affordable option. If you want an easy, low-cost way to invest in real estate, consider using a company like Fundrise. You only need $1,000 to get started and they have three main eREIT’s to choose from.

7. Sell Your Hand Crafted Items on Etsy
If you’ve got a gift for making handcrafted items, consider selling them on Etsy. From baby clothing to woodworking products and more, Etsy store owners can make hundreds of dollars per month or more if they sell a valuable product.

8. Publish an eBook
Real people are indeed making money by publishing eBooks online. If you’ve got valuable information to share, consider gathering it into book form and selling eBooks online at little or no cost to you.

9. Sell Your Designs on Redbubble
One great way to make passive income is to create designs for Redbubble. A person creates the designs, and Redbubble offers them for sale on T-shirts, coffee table covers, tablet covers, mugs, and more. This passive income source involves no work for you after you creates your design. Redbubble simply sends you a check when your sales commissions reach over $20. Marketing your product designs, however, will increase your income.

10. Copywriting
Advertisers and businesses are often looking for copywriters to help them advertise their clients’ or their own products are services. In today’s virtual world, many companies are happy to hire virtual copywriters to help market their businesses. Check out Earn More Writing where my friend Holly shares how she makes over $100,000 per year from writing.
